All of the people are cars.

On cars a car can't get to California.

So he drove to Radiator Springs but the car broke the road so he had to fix it.

After that he got to go to California and did a big race.

I want to watch it again because it is so funny.

Kahurangi Dance Company performed on stage at the Westland Highschool.

The people did a lot of dancing.

I liked the conce-shell and it sounded like a deer.

The ladies were wearing flowers.

It was fun and a lot of people liked it.

The Lorax is based on a book by Dr Seuss.

The Lorax is a star staded comedy for kids of all ages.
It is part of a musical and is very funny.

It features the voices of Zac Efron, Betty White and Taylor Swift.
The movie is of a young boy falling for an older woman.

You see, their town is full of plastic plants and trees.
And it is Teds (The boy) job to plant a tree in the middle of their town to save their town.

The directors are Cris and Kylie
The stars are Zac Efron, Taylor Swift and Danny Deviton.
The writer is Ken.

Movie and book reports

In this movie it is based on the Northen Lights.

The movia itself is about a girl called Lyra, she goes up North to find her missing friend and her imprisoned Father who is trapped by polar bears because he is trying to open a new world in the sky.

Lyra discovers that Lord Asriel and Ms Coulter are her Mother and Father.

On the way up Nirth Lyra meets a polar bear called Iorek and helps him find his armor that is hidden from the villagers.

In return Iorek helped Lyra set her friends and the other children free.

In the end Lyra and Pan step into another world leaving the other one behind.

Even thought the movie is good the book is still better by far.

3D Models

We had fun making 3D models out of marshmallows and toothpicks.  We were able to count and describe the number of faces, edges and corners.

Topic - the Body

We have been learning about the skeleton and the internal organs in our body.  We have made a cardboard skeleton and put the internal organs onto it.

Scientific reports.

We had to write a scientific report on a planet of our choice.

Uranus

Uranus was discovered in1781.  It is the seventh planet.

The temperature is never higher than 170oC below zero.  It is the third largest planet.  Uranus is composed of rock and ice.  Uranus's blue colour is the result of absorption of red light by methane in the upper atmosphere.  Uranus has about thirty rings.  Uranus is a gas planet.

It would be good to find out more about Uranus.

Our sun is not unique in the universe.  It is a common middle sized star which scientist have named Sol after ancient roman name.  This is why our system of planets is called the solar system.  There are trillions of other stars in the universe just like it.  Many of these stars have their own systems of planets, moons, asteroids and comets.

The sun was born in a vast cloud of gas and dust around 5 billion years ago.

Earth is the third planet from the sun, and the fifth largest of the eight planets in the solar system.

Earth is the only planet in the solar system with creatures living on it, it is also the only planet with h20c as a liquid on it's self.

Earth is a mass of rock, melted rock and hot gasses.

Planet earth is not hot and not to cold making a perfect environment to live in.

I think earth is a good place to live.

Pineapple is a fruit and pineapple an has seeds.  It is yellow.  It is hard.  People like to eat it.  It grows in India.  It is yellow in the inside.  It is yummy and lots of people eat it.

This term we are learning to write a variety of reports. We have began by writing a progress report for a sports person.  Here is some of our writing

Dan Carter

Dan Carter has been playing for 10 years.  He plays rugby for the All Blacks team.

He is very good at kicking goals.  Dan Carter practices every day and week.  He has been playing since he was 5.

He wears a mouth guard during games.  Dan Carter is always in the correct All Blacks rugby uniform.

Dan Carter has been practising how to attack the other team.

He understands the positions on the field and he knows how to work in a team.

Dan Carter positions himself well and he is learning to tackle people.

Well done at kicking goals.

Casey William's netball report

Casey Williams

Casey Williams plays netball and has been playing for seven years with the Silver Ferns.

Casey Williams plays goal-keep and goal defence and centre for the Silver Ferns.  She does great as captain.

You can always tell she's having a good time.  She's very encouraging to her team mates.  Defending is one of her strengths.

She's always energetic and helpful to everyone and she's always there for her team mates.

At practise she never complains.

She is great as captain.  I hope to see her get better at netball and keep up the good work!
